Guests should ring the MakeHaven doorbell, then proceed down the long hallway. When you get the main MakeHaven staircase by the double elevators, rather than go downstairs, proceed through the double glass doors, take a right down the hallway and you will see a room with a big robot sticker on the door.

Join us for a fun and hands-on workshop to master the craft of creating your very own LED greeting card. In this 3-hour session, we'll explore the world of paper circuits, combining art with technology. You will learn to use LED lights with copper tape to make an interactive holiday card that amazes your friends and family. Feel free to bring your favorite markers, colored pencils, or paints. We will have limited art supplies available. No soldering needed – this workshop is perfect for beginners looking to add a touch of magic to their projects with simple circuits.

The main makerspace and connected shops. This is located at 770 Chapel Street. Registered participants should ring the MakeHaven labeled doorbell. They will be directed down a long hallway, and down a set of stairs to our basement workshop.

Tufting is a process by which custom carpets can be made. The artist sketches a pattern on a cloth, then uses a tufting gun to inject the yarn into the cloth. During this session participants will learn hands-on how to tuft their own simple design. Each participant will be assigned the use of tufting gun and frame, all materials will be provided to create a rug approximately 20" x24". Over the two sessions participants will create a carpet of their own design which they can take home.

Gourd pyrography, or wood burning on gourds, is the art of decorating gourds with burn marks using various heated tools. This workshop will provide an overview of the art of gourd pyrography and allow participants to wood burn their own design into a dried gourd of their choice. Participants will learn how to use a wood burning tool, how to deal with the somewhat tricky surface of gourds, and how to stain and seal their gourd design.

Unleash your creativity and learn how to make a pumpkin using chainmaille techniques. This special 2.5-hour seasonal class requires no previous experience and will cover the basics of various types of jump rings, their sizes, materials, and how to properly open and close them. Building on this foundation, you'll progress to more advanced techniques, allowing you to construct an intricate chainmail pumpkin that showcases your newfound skills and is perfect for Halloween or year-round display. Class projects will include a mobius necklace and whirlybird pumpkin.

All materials will be provided, including copper rods and battery-powered LEDs. No experience is necessary. Brian, your instructor, will provide step-by-step instructions, and there will be plenty of time for questions and assistance.
