An overview of the US patent system, trademarks, and copyrights will be presented. BIOGRAPHY OF MICHAEL BLAKE

Michael Blake is the founder of the Law Offices of Michael A. Blake, LLC. His intellectual property law practice serves both individual and business clients. The firm provides patent, trademark, and copyright legal services to public and privately-held companies, as well as individuals across a wide range of industries, including construction, computer hardware, software development, manufacturing, health services, and consumer goods.

Michael Blake is a registered Patent Attorney, licensed to practice in Connecticut and California (inactive). He formerly taught at the University of Connecticut School of Law as a professor in the Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic. He also served as an instructor at Fairfield University, where he taught the graduate-level engineering course, “Management of Intellectual Property Assets.” He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. Before attending law school, he worked for four years as a mechanical engineer at Bently Nevada Corporation, now part of GE Power Systems. He earned his law degree from the University of Texas and currently serves clients nationwide from his Milford, Connecticut office.
