VCarve for CNC

Wednesday, September 14, 2022 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

VCarve Pro is a powerful but intuitive software for creating and cutting parts on a CNC Router.  VCarve Pro gives you the power to produce complex 2D patterns with profile, pocket, drill and inlay toolpaths, plus gives you the ability to create designs with v-carving textures as well as import and machine unlimited Vectric 3D clipart or single model files.

In this class you will learn the basics of VCarve by designing a project that includes shapes, text, and imported bitmaps. Once the design is completed you will learn how to assign tool paths and review what bits to use and speeds of cuts. In addition you will learn some tips/tricks which include: keyhole path, double sided milling and texturing.

After the day of the class, Phil will be available (within reason) to answer questions and assist with issues if they arise as you work on your next project.

Bring your laptop so you can access VCarve and design during the class. MakeHaven has a limited number of computers that can be borrowed, please indicate in your registration if you need to make use of one.

Note: Please be aware that the class will take place in the Learning Room and focus on the software side of a CNC. Badging for the Shapeoko or other CNC are separate.
