The instructor will guide you through reading stock charts, understanding market terminology, and interpreting the broader economic signals that influence trading decisions.

What to Bring
Please bring a laptop with MetaTrader 5 installed, as well as the MetaTrader 5 app installed on your phone. We’ll be using the platform during class for live demonstrations and practice.
A small number of laptops are available to borrow—if you need one, please email events@makehaven.org ahead of time to reserve one.
Who Should Attend
This class is designed for beginners with little to no prior knowledge of the stock market. If you’re curious about investing, want to feel more confident reading financial data, or are just starting your investing journey, this class is for you.

No prior experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity, your devices, and an interest in understanding how markets move. This class is educational only—no personal financial advice will be given.

Instructor or Event Lead
Ricky Rollins
Ricky brings over 15 years of experience across a wide range of creative and technical fields, including branding and marketing, project management, computer science, web and mobile app development, graphic design, photography and videography, social media marketing, visual arts, and music production. With a degree in Software Engineering from Paier College at the University of Bridgeport, Ricky combines deep technical expertise with a strong creative foundation. His teaching style encourages participants to think conceptually rather than just literally or visually. As Ricky puts it, “Don’t believe what you see—see what you believe.” This approach invites learners to dig deeper, question assumptions, and develop a mindset that connects critical thinking with creative expression. Whether teaching digital tools or creative strategy, Ricky’s goal is to empower students to see the bigger picture and approach their work with intention and originality.
