1st Floor Room

This educational room has seating and tables suitable for instruction away from the noise of the main workshop. It is located on the first floor of 770 Chapel Street. Guests should ring the MakeHaven doorbell, then proceed down the long hallway. When you get the main MakeHaven staircase by the double elevators, rather than go downstairs, proceed through the double glass doors, take a right down the hallway and you will see a room with a big robot sticker on the door.

In this class designed for Inkscape newbies, learn how to build and edit an SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) using the free software Inkscape. SVG files are scalable to any fixed size and are the file type used for our laser cutters and the base files for the vinyl cutter, plus have many other applications.

For members who have a basic knowledge of the water jet and it's uses, Joel brings over 13 years of experience with waterjet cutters to the class to show participants some of the next level things the machine can produce, as well as a wealth of tips & tricks.

Places like a woodshop can feel difficult to break into.

In this monthly event, MakeHaven's women, trans, and femme members* are invited to the woodshop to become familiar with the space and add some woodworking badges to their toolbelt. In these sessions, MakeHaven woodshop facilitator Jen leads the group through use of a variety of the tools in the woodshop.
