Over the course of four weeks, you will produce a full-size Adirondack Chair while learning about the tools and techniques it takes to build one. During each three-hour session, there will be discussions on design, patterns, tools, and finishing. You will leave with a chair that is ready to paint and decorate at home. Plus, the knowledge gained from this course will enable you to make more chairs on your own schedule using affordable hand tools!

Description: CT Manufacturing Day will become an annual flagship manufacturing event for all of Connecticut. In collaboration with the City of Bridgeport, The Entrepreneurship Foundation and Housatonic Community College, the event will attract an eclectic mix of manufacturers, makers and entrepreneurs. We'll deliver a diverse crowd of students and career seekers for a celebration of invention, creativity, curiosity and hand-on learning.

A makerspace is a membership-based organization that gives its members access to professional equipment and resources to conceptualize and create incredible projects. More than that, the maker movement is one that encourages the communal sharing of ideas, innovation, and collaboration. Makers create their passion projects while learning different machines and techniques that build lifelong skills.
