In this two-part workshop, participants will learn how to marble leather and create their own colorful, one-of-a-kind leather accessories. Leather marbling is similar to traditional paper or fabric marbling, but it uses different dyes and requires unique preparation and finishing techniques. Across two evenings, you’ll explore the full process without needing to purchase specialty pigments, tools, or safety equipment—or risk dyeing your entire kitchen floor at home. By the end, participants will leave with a finished pair of earrings or a bracelet/cuff featuring their own custom marbled pattern.

This class meets twice—Tuesday, December 16 and Thursday, December 18.

What to Expect

The first session focuses on preparing leather, mixing the marbling medium, experimenting with color, and transferring your marble designs onto leather. The second session covers sealing and finishing techniques, cutting and shaping your accessory, beveling and burnishing edges, and setting hardware. Expect hands-on instruction, live demonstrations, and plenty of creative exploration.
