What to Expect

This non MakeHaven community partner event brings an evening of new sound and moving image art to the Ely Center of Contemporary Art, hosted alongside Kit Young. Visiting from San Francisco, composer Tom Djll and instrument maker Bryan Day will perform an improvisational set combining trumpet, electronics, and mechanized instruments crafted from found household items. Local artists Matt Wellins and Rex Morris will also present two independent sets demonstrating their own newly invented instruments. Throughout all three sets, Kit Young will project custom moving image accompaniments using analog and digital video tools paired with local footage.
