Especially now that we’re developing a ceramics area, this would be a great synergy between 3D printing and ceramics. This way we can print very, very complicated and precise parts with the ceramic resin, and then fire them to yield a purely ceramic part. One of the few FormLabs resins that can (through firing) be considered food safe.

It would be great to designate an area of the cutter for smaller pieces and install a catching system like this. Recommended by Joel Greenwood

New Tool for Lending Library

With MH's excellent lending library, I have /almost/ all the tools I need to remove my Prius hybrid battery; the one exception seems to be a torque wrench that works in the low ft-lb range (20-30 ft-lb), which is required for re-tightening certain bolts when re-installing the battery. This would fill a gap in the current torque wrench options (have: 40-200 in-lb and 50-250 ft-lb; missing: 200-600 in-lb aka 17-49 ft-lb range), and would be helpful to me & perhaps other future Prius DIYers :-)

Spiral mixers are efficient and effective dough mixers. They differ from the planetary (or KitchenAid) style in two very important ways.

First, there is an agitator arm in the center of the bowl that prevents the dough "riding" up the hook, getting stuck, forcing you to stop the machine and slide it back down.

Second, and most importantly, they are specialized; designed with one purpose in mind, kneading dough. To achieve that, the bowl rotates around a rotating, and fixed, dough hook.
