What to Expect

This standalone skill class meets on Sunday, December 6, from 1–4pm. This class combines demonstration and guided practice. The instructor will demonstrate various binding methods and hand-finishing techniques to secure quilt edges. Participants will spend the session applying these methods to their own work or practice materials.

For those who want extra time to continue working on their project, ask questions, or quilt alongside others, we will also offer a separate Quilt-Along session later in the month. This optional follow-up meets on Sunday, December 20, from 1–4pm, and is ticketed separately at $10 ($8 for members).

• Preparing and attaching quilt binding

• Mitering corners for a clean finish

• Hand and machine stitching techniques for edges

• Squaring up a quilt before finishing

• Methods for securing and hidden knots

Who Should Attend

This workshop is ideal for quilters with unfinished projects who want to learn the final steps of construction. It is perfect for anyone looking to master clean, professional-looking edges. Adults 18+ only.

 

Prerequisites/Safety Information

No formal prerequisites, but basic familiarity with a sewing machine is recommended. Closed-toe shoes are encouraged in the sewing classroom.
