MakeHaven Main Space
The main makerspace and connected shops. This is located at 770 Chapel Street. Registered participants should ring the MakeHaven labeled doorbell. They will be directed down a long hallway, and down a set of stairs to our basement workshop.
Tufting is a process by which custom carpets can be made. The artist sketches a pattern on a cloth, then uses a tufting gun to inject the yarn into the cloth. During this session participants will learn hands-on how to tuft their own simple design. Each participant will be assigned the use of tufting gun and frame, all materials will be provided to create a rug approximately 30" in diameter. Over the two sessions participants will create a carpet of their own design which they can take home.
PLEASE NOTE: In addition to Sunday's class, there will be a followup session Tuesday night (6/8) from 6:30-8:00pm so you can finish your rug once it is glued up. Please plan to attend BOTH sessions. If you cannot make Tuesday, please contact info@makehaven.org.
This class is limited to FOUR participants to allow for social distancing.
The finished result looks like this.
Covid Policies. The workshop will take place in a large room dedicated to the activity and participation will be limited to four registered participants plus instructor. All participants are required to wear a mask the entire time and may only participate well and following safe covid practices.
