Machine Shop
At 770 Chapel, in basement beside main space.
This interactive workshop will be aimed at giving participants an understanding of how to recycle waste plastic into a usable material that can can be used to create desirable artisan products. The focus will be on melting and pressing acrylic into small sheets of plastic.
This is a two day workshop. The rough agenda is:
- Saturday - 10am - 4pm. (30 minute lunch break)
- Learn fundamentals of plastic recycling from Lux
- Examples of products
- Introduction to operating the machines
- Demonstration of the process
- Sunday - 10am - 3pm. (30 minute lunch break) Workshop part 2, Plus 30 minute show and tell at 3pm.
- Hands on time recycling and prototyping a product
- Show and tell what was made

About the Instructor
Lux is a guest instructor visiting from Europe and the founder of Cut Off Studio. Lux has extensive experience pressing acrylics and making artisan products.
