Looking for a great introduction to woodworking? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create a stylish and functional 8.5x11 frame from start to finish. Guided by a seasoned instructor, you’ll explore essential woodworking techniques, including measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing. Walk away with a beautiful, handmade frame to showcase your favorite artwork, photos, or documents—perfect for your home or office.

What to Expect

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to measure, cut, and assemble wood to create a custom picture frame. We’ll guide you through using tools like the miter saw and clamps in a beginner-friendly, low-pressure environment. You’ll also get to try your hand at sanding and finishing techniques to give your frame a clean, polished look you’ll be proud of.

Skills You’ll Acquire

By the end of the session, you’ll know how to safely and accurately cut wood to size, use clamps and adhesives for solid assembly, and apply finishing touches to smooth and protect your frame. Whether you’re totally new to woodworking or just brushing up on basics, you’ll leave with some solid skills.

What’s Provided

We’ll supply everything you need for the project, including pre-cut wood, sandpaper, and finishing materials. Tools and safety equipment will be ready and waiting for you, and your instructor will be there to offer guidance, tips, and support throughout.

Prerequisites / Safety Information

No experience is necessary—this is a beginner-friendly workshop. Just be sure to wear closed-toe shoes, and be ready to follow safety guidelines, which we’ll go over together at the start of the session.
