List your business with MakeHaven

Make things to sell, offer classes or custom work, or building a startup? MakeHaven members list their business for free, so neighbors, shoppers and the region's business support organizations can find them.

What a listing gets you

  • A page for your businessListed in Member Businesses with your logo, story and website.
  • Your products in the shopProducts with a photo and a buy link appear on Shop Our Makers, the page we send gift shoppers to.
  • A chance at the newsletterStaff pick member products to feature in the MakeHaven newsletter, read by thousands of people across greater New Haven.
  • Found by people who help foundersOptionally join the regional Founder Resource Network: business coaches, funders and other makerspaces can find you and refer you to programs. Your contact details are never listed.

How to list your business

  1. Be a MakeHaven memberListings are a member benefit at no extra cost. Join MakeHaven, or sign in if you already are a member.
  2. Create your business profileFive minutes: your business name, a few sentences about what you make or do, your website, and a logo or photo of your work. Create a business profile
  3. Add your productsOn the same form, under Products: a clear photo, a name, a sentence or two, and a link where someone can buy or book it. Products with a buy link are what shoppers see.
  4. Optional: join the regional networkTick "Share with the regional Founder Resource Network" on your profile, then review and agree to the network's terms on your ecosystem preferences page. Your business is listed beside you in the directory partner organizations use.

What makes a profile people click

  • A real photo of your work or a clean logo. Profiles without one sort to the bottom of the directory.
  • Two or three sentences in your own voice: what you make, what makes it yours, who it is for.
  • At least one product with a price in the description and a link to buy or book.
  • A website, shop or Instagram link that works.
