  3. Watch the 15-minute New Member Video.
  4. Schedule/attend on site Safety Walkthrough.
Our insurance requires that all members must be at least 18 and able to sign a waiver.
Monthly Membership Fee Type
Which membership type is appropriate to your financial situation. Membership rates are reviewed each year and may adjust based on factors like inflation.
Add a monthly contribution to support access for others with less income or difficult circumstances.
Monthly Donation Amount
Donations from those with greater financial ability allow MakeHaven to offer sliding scale membership and reduced price access to educational workshops. Donations are tax deductible. You can change, reduce or cancel your monthly donation at any time. Thank you for creating opportunity for makers who are experiencing financial hardship!
Special Circumstances Consideration Qualifying Events
Significant, ongoing medical expenses not fully covered by insurance.
Examples: house fire, natural disaster, or burglary.
Financial strain due to unpaid care for a dependent with serious health or disability needs

What is an appropriate monthly membership amount in your situation?

We are unable to accept memberships below $30 per month at this time. 

Due to limited funding. If you select an amount under $30, your name will be added to a waiting list, and we will notify you when reduced-price memberships become available.

If you have some other situation that limits your ability to pay you may apply for a membership fee specific to your situation. You may continue the signup process, billing will be delayed until your request is reviewed by staff. If your request is not approved you may choose not to continue with membership without any cost charged to you.
For Income and Taxes I am considered
We use the size of family along with household income level to determine reasonable monthly membership dues. Answer based on how your household files taxes — for example, a student filing as a dependent must base qualification on family household income.

The adjusted fee is $30 per month.

Sliding Scale Qualifications and Requirements
MakeHaven scholarships are intended for households experiencing financial need. Individuals and families with significant liquid assets do not meet this eligibility requirement. This excludes retirement accounts and the equity in my primary residence.
Renewals are currently every 6 months. Renewal reminders will be sent by email. Those who do not complete the renewal form will have the sliding scale pricing expire and the membership will automatically revert to the standard rate.
