Second Sunds is a social gathering for makers. Whether you're working on something wild and wonderful, or still brainstorming your next big idea, this is the perfect space to show it off or bounce ideas around. We want to see what you’ve been up to, hear your stories, and get inspired by each other’s creativity. Snacks provided; feel free to bring a favorite to share if inspired.

Join us for a discussion event for entrepreneurial MakeHaven members this Friday. We will do a walk and talk tour of MakeHaven with Senator Murphy, followed by a discussion on entrepreneurship hosted by Ben Berkowitz, co-founder of SeeClickFix and Plush. This is an excellent opportunity to for MakeHaven to showcase our entrepreneurial community, discuss innovation with a national policy maker and network with other entrepreneurial MakeHaveners.

What to Expect
Students will be guided through the techniques of Senegalese hair styling, learning how to create and decorate these traditional looks. You’ll also be introduced to basic Senegalese vocabulary related to hair and styling, helping you connect more deeply with the culture. Each session will highlight the significance of these hair rituals and how they reflect the values and traditions of Senegalese communities.
Skills You’ll Acquire
• Techniques for traditional Senegalese hair styling and decoration
What to Expect
Students will start by selecting from a variety of donated fabric scraps and learn how to cut, arrange, and piece them together to create a unique quilt top. Once the quilt top is completed, you’ll discover how to layer it with batting and a backing fabric, and join these layers through basic quilting techniques. By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a completed quilt and a new understanding of sustainable crafting!

Join brewing facilitator Liam as he brings out the cider press for a non-alcoholic pear cider pressing! Come by to see and try out the press and taste some pear cider. Stop by for some or all of the event.
