  • Identify:
  • The controls on the machine
  • What is the compressed air for, turn it on
  • What materials can be cut (anything conductive)
  • Make sure any coatings are ground off 2” from all cuts
  • Take apart and reassemble the tip of the cutter
  • Cut a piece of scrap metal
  • Appropriate safety gear donned
  • Skin covered with non-synthetics
  • Gloves (non-synthetic), wrists covered
  • Mask (10-13 shade, delay), test by looking at ceiling lights
  • Cap for head
  • Closed shoes
  • Set PSI and electricity on machine
  • Fume extractor set up and turned on
  • Appropriately secure workpiece
  • Attach work clamp
  • Experiment with settings/travel speed
  • Shut down
  • Air and Fan off
  • Lines coiled
  • Area cleaned
