For use with sheet metal an wire. It is different than the shear/brake/roll, in that it uses a gear reduction system to multiply the force on the metal. It is used to compress the metal, giving the user the ability to flatten sheet metal, change it’s gauge, forge it, etc. It is an incredibly useful tool for metal sculpture and jewelry making.

Spiral mixers are efficient and effective dough mixers. They differ from the planetary (or KitchenAid) style in two very important ways.

First, there is an agitator arm in the center of the bowl that prevents the dough "riding" up the hook, getting stuck, forcing you to stop the machine and slide it back down.

Though the Prusa hasn't been perfect, that's largely because people have been using Octopi slicer. By using the Prusa slicer it seems to work flawlessly. It makes great prints, and is a great price compared to comparable machines. It would be great for our PLA 3d printers to be consistent.

Roasting your own coffee gives you more control, is far cheaper, ensures freshness, and gives you access to a much wider range of beans! Though you can roast at home with a Whirlypop or other simple setup, having a programmable machine with heating elements, fans, and smoke control makes things much easier, more approachable for new users, and produces less of a mess.

The one that we have is very very old and cannot be set up correctly. A jointer plane can be used to flatten long boards, with a finish much nicer than the planner or the jointer, not requiring sanding afterwards. Plus it can flatten very wide panels that don't fit in the planner or even the sander.

When you're TIG welding it's usually important to have a sharp and clean tip on your tungsten electrode. To keep from getting contaminated welds from grinding on a grinding stone used for other things, it's best to use a specific grinding wheel for welding tungstens. It's also helpful to have a jig for getting the right angle.
