Ticketed Workshop

Instructor: Gayle Hawley

In this hands-on quilting workshop, participants will learn how to upcycle old denim into a durable and warm quilt top. The session focuses on piecing together various denim weights and shades to create a heavy-duty textile project. Participants will learn how to handle thicker materials and use specialized needles to construct rugged, beautiful quilt blocks from repurposed jeans.

What to Expect

This standalone skill class meets on Sunday, November 1, from 1–4pm. This class combines demonstration and guided practice. The instructor will demonstrate techniques for cutting, arranging, and piecing heavy fabrics into cohesive designs. Participants will practice stitching through multiple layers of denim to complete at least one finished block.

For those who want extra time to continue working on their project, ask questions, or quilt alongside others, we will also offer a separate Quilt-Along session later in the month. This optional follow-up meets on Sunday, November 15, from 1–4pm, and is ticketed separately at $10 ($8 for members).
