Most kitchens don’t need more tools; they need smarter ones! In this beginner friendly woodworking class, you will create a versatile 3-in-1 wooden tool designed to save space (and your fingers)! This single, easy-to-store accessory functions as a safe oven rack pull, an efficient herb stripper, and a leverage mason jar opener. It’s the perfect project for anyone looking to learn the basics of woodworking while making something truly useful for the home.

What to Expect

This standalone skill class is a perfect introduction to the woodshop. You will start with a solid wood blank and follow a guided process to cut, shape, and finish your multi-tool. We will move from power tools to hand-finishing, ensuring every edge is smooth and comfortable to hold. By the end of the session, you’ll have a professional-looking, food-safe tool ready to go to work in your kitchen.

Skills You’ll Acquire

  • Precision Drilling: Measuring and drilling graduated holes to cleanly strip herbs like rosemary and thyme.
  • Router Table Basics: Using a round-over bit to give your tool smooth, ergonomic edges.
  • Hand Tool Refinement: Using a file to reach tight corners and perfect the tool's functional notches.
  • Fine Finishing: Mastering hand sanding techniques and applying food-safe oils for a durable, beautiful surface.
  • Template Transfer: Learning how to layout a multi-functional design onto a wood workpiece.

What’s Provided

  • High-quality hardwood blanks (such as Maple, Cherry, or Walnut)
  • Precision templates for the 3-in-1 design
  • All necessary shop tools, including drill press and router table
  • Hand files and various grits of sandpaper
  • Food-safe wood finishes
