Ticketed Workshop

Instructor: Gayle Hawley

In this hands-on quilting workshop, participants will learn the basics of foundation paper piecing, a technique that involves sewing fabric directly onto a paper pattern to achieve precise piecing and sharp angles not possible with traditional methods. You’ll choose from provided patterns and work through the steps to select fabric, sew accurately, and finish a block. By the end of class, each participant will have completed at least one foundation paper–pieced block.

What to Expect

This standalone skill class meets on Sunday, July 5, from 1–4pm. This class combines demonstration and guided practice. Participants will follow instructor demonstrations and step-by-step guidance while working with prepared paper patterns. Emphasis will be placed on accuracy, fabric placement, and clean results.

For those who want extra time to continue working on their project, ask questions, or quilt alongside others, we will also offer a separate Quilt-Along session later in the month. This optional follow-up meets on Sunday, July 19, 1–4pm, and is ticketed separately at $10 ($8 for members).
