Foundations of Fabrication Course Application

MakeHaven’s Foundations of Fabrication course is a 6-month long, hands-on learning experience where students execute on a new project every two weeks, resulting in a personal portfolio of technical accomplishments that will impress future employers and clients. Students completing all requirements will receive a MakeHaven Foundations of Fabrication certificate.

Cost: The cost of the course is $1,500. Participants must have an active MakeHaven membership for the duration of the course. We also estimate about $500 in additional materials, but that varies by individual and projects.

Participants can request a monthly payment plan of $250 per month. Scholarships are available for those who need economic assistance.

Materials: Materials for the group/class projects are included in the registration cost. Materials for each sections personal projects are the participants responsibility.

Timeline: Course runs twice per year: January to June and July through December.

Application Deadline:  Applications are taken until the class is filled (15 slots) or the course begins. Spaces are limited,  applicants accepted on a rolling basis, so please submit your application early.

Basic Info
Demographics
We ask these questions because we aim for the class composition to have a balance of people from different backgrounds. Within many maker activities we see an under representation of women and people of color. This information will give feedback on the success of our outreach and recruiting efforts as well as allow us to be intentional about creating a class composition which reflects our community.
