Material Energy Nexus Critical Materials for a Sustainable and Just Energy Transition

Join Yale for an interdisciplinary event focused on critical materials required for the energy transition. There will be expert keynotes, a dynamic panel discussion, and networking with dinner.

Solar panels, wind turbines, EV batteries, and energy storage all require critical materials.

We will cover social, environmental, geopolitical, and trade issues connected to extraction, processing, supply chains, and recycling.

Keynotes

5 - 6 PM

We will kickoff with two keynote talks providing foundations on the material requirements for the energy transition and key social challenges

Panel Discussion

6 - 7 PM

A dynamic panel discussion moderated by Dr. Barbara Reck, focused on future trends, solutions, and opportunities for meeting material needs

Networking

7 - 8 PM

The evening will conclude with networking over dinner, providing a chance to dig deeper into the key issues raised through the event
