A 3D scanner would be a very useful tool in developing designs for the 3D printers. I believe that it could be useful in designing for the CNC machines as well.

This grinder is ideal for stained glass (grinding long straight pieces) as well as pottery (grinding excess glass and the bottoms of pieces).

It would be handy to know how many of the 3D printers available for use are currently in-use, or to check up on a print remotely.
