Basics of Virtual Reality

Have you have wondered about what has developed in the world of Virtual Reality? This session will give you a basic overview of the technology and some of the more interesting applications of the technology. The presenter will introduce awareness of some development tools for creating your own virtual worlds, games and experiences. The group will then have time to discuss options and resources for exploring VR development.



1. Intro to devices (10minutes) 
2. Examples of experiences (15 minutes)
3. Intro to software Unity/Unreal Engine pros/cons (15 minutes)
4. Share ideas you have, open it up to the group for comment or questions. (20 minutes)

Todd Fine is a PhD student in History who likes to tinker with microcontrollers, audio synthesis, virtual environments in Unity3d, and web development.
