Kayacast Vacuum Investing and Casting Machine

Invest, vacuum and cast using this one versatile machine. Ideal for casting both perforated and solid flasks (up to 7"H) as well as for vacuuming invested flasks and RTV molds, this compact, powerful investing/casting machine is made with tough, durable components. This machine has a built-in 3cfm vacuum pump and an easy-access port making it simple to add oil or to change the oil completely. Its investment table is a generous 11" x 11" in size. Its 1/2hp motor ensures an efficient, effective vacuum for more defect-free molds and patterns.

Jewelry Area

The Jewelry Bench and associated tools are used to make jewelry. Because of the delicacy and sensitivity of the tools to contaminants, no ferrous metals may be used in this area, and none of the tools may be used outside of the Jewelry area.

Oven thermometer

To know the actual temperature of an oven as it relates to what the thermostat reads, to know if it is hotter or colder than it should be and how much to compensate in order to get precise results.

Remote 3D Printing Monitoring

Sometimes the 3D printers are all busy, and other times they are all free. Sometimes they appear to be busy, but will all be done printing in ten minutes. It would be nice to be able to track the progress of prints across the entire farm using something like OctoFarm or similar. There are definitely challenges to be solved, since I think OctoFarm needs to be on the inside network to talk to the OctoPrint nodes, and then we need a way to expose some status externally. Or maybe we can just do something with webcams.

Woodcarving handtool set

Wouldn't you love to be able to carve a spoon on a lazy Sunday morning on your porch? Or whittle a walking stick by the campfire? If MakeHaven had a set of simple hand carving tools in the lending library you could!

To start out with, we could just get a simple pair of a knife and a hook knife. That'd be enough for spoon carving and some simple whittling.

A slightly more expansive kit could include a folding handsaw, a small hatchet, a few different gouges, and small chisels. A small mallet might also be useful?

Induction Forge

*DO NOT USE THIS TOOL IF YOU HAVE A PACEMAKER. REMOVE ANY JEWELRY ON YOUR HANDS WHILE USING. IF YOU HAVE ANY METAL IMPLANTS, MAKE SURE TO KEEP THEM AWAY FROM THE COILS*

The induction forge can be used for heating and melting metals. This video goes over how to make your own coils, starting around 14:00. Our coils are 1/4" and use 1/4" nuts, so no need for soldering: https://youtu.be/GU6n488i2mI?t=826.
